Rachel K Collier is a singer, songwriter and producer from Swansea, Wales. Growing up singing and writing songs on the piano from a young age, she moved on to develop a serious interest in song arrangement and production, inventive vocal recording techniques and beat programming.
A grade 8 pianist with a distinctive voice and innovative output, she studied Creative Music Technology (BMus) at the Royal Welsh college of Music & Drama for four years, where she spent her time studying composition, sound design and writing and recording music and songs in many different genres.
Following her move to London in 2010 to pursue her songwriting and recording career, Rachel recorded a performance of the Jimmy Cliff classic, “Hard Road To Travel”, for a Saatchi televised advertising campaign. The popularity of the recording led to its commercial release in May 2012, where the song charted at number 79 in the UK Singles chart.
She went on to co-write and featured on the track “2 Us”, the comeback single from legendary garage producer Wookie in July 2012. This lead to a further co-write and feature on the 2013 smash summer hit “Boom Boom (Heartbeat)”, which peaked at number 12 in the UK Singles chart, followed by another feature and co-write with producer Mat Zo on the Grammy-nominated Album “Damage Control”, which peaked at number 1 on the iTunes Dance Album Charts.
Now focusing solely on writing and producing records under her own name, Rachel released her debut self-produced EP “Words You Never Heard” in October 2015 on UK underground electronic label Love & Other.
